USA Powerlifting Teams with United Through Sports
USA Powerlifting would like to invite all members ages 8-18 to participate in the United Through Sports (UTS) Virtual Youth Festival.
UTS is an international non-profit organization working to help kids from disadvantaged backgrounds through sports. UTS is in allegiance with the IOC, Sports Accord and AIMS.
The Virtual Youth Festival (VYF) encourages kids to participate in international sport in a time that our entire world is facing a pandemic. We have all seen first hand, how this virus has affected our youth in a very negative way. Participation in the VYF will hopefully provide some fun, good health and competition for all involved.
USA Powerlifting encourages ‘youth’ (ages 8-18) to get involved!
VYF Competition Information:
The VYF Max Fit Competition is made up of three “at home” exercises. The kids will film themselves (with parent help) completing as many reps as possible of the given exercises, for 30 seconds.
Max Fit exercises include (click links for demonstrations): Sit Ups with 1,2’s, Push Ups, Jump Squats with 1,2’s
Each state will conduct their own Max Fit competition. The State Chairs will then provide a male and female representative in each age category. All entrants must be current USA Powerlifting members.
Age Categories:
All ages: under 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18. They must compete in the age category they will be on Nov. 22nd.
Registration:
Use this Google Form to submit entries and State Chairs will judge the exercises. For each entrant, the videos will be viewed and only the reps within the rules counted. Kids with the largest combined score of the three exercises will win their age category. Registration will be Oct. 6 – Oct. 16th.
State Chairs will submit their finalist including their Max Fit videos by Oct.20th.
Once all the entries are received from each State, we will compare the videos and name our USA Powerlifting finalist (male and female for each age group). These athletes will be submitted to the IPF.
The IPF will accept the finalists from all participating countries and then submit the overall finalist to UTS.
The IPF finalists will compete in the International Virtual Youth Festival on Nov. 20-23.
